‘Basketball Wives’ star Shaunie O'Neal is now engaged to Houston Pastor Keion Henderson. The pair have been dating for almost two years after a mutual friend reportedly introduced the both of them.
Magical Experience
In a report with People Magazine, the 46-year-old reality star said that it was one of the most magical experiences of her life. She shared that she never had anyone go down on one knee and propose to her before.
According to the report, the pastor proposed to the celebrity on Thursday, Nov. 11, on a tropical island.
Shaunie admitted she never thought someone would ever love her like this until she met the pastor.
She continued saying that she would not change a thing about the entire experience. Shaunie added that her fiancé is an "extraordinary man of God." She went on to say that Henderson is wise, supportive, and attentive to her needs.
O'Neal added that the pastor inspired her to become a better person and that she could not wait to spend her whole life with him.
She declared that their love is forever and that it is an honor to fulfill that commitment.
Love Worth Pursuing
Meanwhile, Henderson told People Magazine that he had never felt more loved in all his life. He added that there was an undeniable connection between him and Shaunie.
The pastor shared that the love and respect for each other contribute to their humility and growth. He said that those qualities make them more like God.
Henderson continued saying he was lucky because his fiancée was someone who brought out the best in him. He said their love is something worth pursuing.
Significance of 11/11
The pastor explained to People Magazine why Nov. 11 was an important date for both of them.
"Every day, you and I either call each other or text each other at 11:11, and we say that we love each other," he shared.
Henderson added that he and Shaunie would joke about who loved each other more. He decided to take things to a higher level. The lead pastor proposed to Shaunie on Nov. 11 at 11:11 PM to prove that he loved her more.
The report said that Henderson gave Shaunie 4.22-karat radiant-cut diamond ring with an 18-karat white gold band. When Shaunie said "yes," the couple went outside to watch the private fireworks show that Henderson ordered.
Pastor Henderson is the lead pastor of the Lighthouse Church.
Previous Marriages
As reported via NY Gal, Shaunie is the ex-wife of basketball star Shaquille O’Neal. Their marriage started in 2002, but after five years Shaq reportedly initiated to file a divorce.
Meanwhile, according to Hollywood Mask, Henderson was first married to Felicia Henderson. The former couple had two daughters from that marriage. Both did not share details about their relationship on social media.
At the same time, Henderson often shared wisdom and advice about love and dating, marriage, and finding a life partner.
The couple filed for divorce in 2019. According to the news outlet, the separation was difficult for the pastor.
In a prior interview, he shared with listeners about going through life's ups and downs. He encouraged everyone to keep their faith despite difficulties.
Henderson told People Magazine that his engagement to Shaunie was the start of a new day.
