Affton Christian Church St. Louis had a special announcement for its congregation. The church shared a friendly reminder to keep everyone healthy and safe.

Friendly Reminder for Everyone

Affton Christian Church leaders, through Facebook, asked its congregation to be mindful of the health and safety of others. The church encouraged everyone attending church to consider keeping a safe distance from others and also consider wearing a mask.

This reminder for everyone results from the reported number of families struck with COVID-19 in the recent week.

According to Affton Christian Church St. Louis, there is no evidence that they got COVID-19 from attending the services.

However, this raises the issue of being mindful of everyone's health and the safety of others.

As stated in the announcement, it seems the common factor felt perfectly fine one day. Then, the next day, they started showing symptoms. The church reminded everyone that COVID-19's insidious nature is contagious even when a person does not have symptoms.

Aside from reminding everyone to consider keeping a safe distance and wearing a mask, Affton Christian Church of St. Louis also requested its congregation to stay at home if they feel the least bit achy or their throat feels a little scratchy.

It also asked everyone to stay at home if their nose is a little stuffy, and if they find that, they say to themselves, "It is probably allergies."

Still, Affton Christian Church St. Louis encouraged all to join the services through its online community if they could.

Finally, it requested that all keep each other in their prayers, to stay safe, and be well.

About Affton Christian Church

According to its website, this faith community's journey is to be a church of inasmuch. This one means that it aims to inclusively welcome all and feed those who are hungry and thirsty.

Affton Christian Church St. Louis is also a church that reaches out to the helpless, gives hope to the hopeless, and becomes a voice for the voiceless.

Furthermore, its journey is to become the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in the neighborhood and the world.

Its address is 9625 Tesson Ferry Rd., St. Louis. This faith community is led by Reverend David A. Woodard, its Senior Pastor.

The website states that Affton Christian Church is more than a structure. It is a hospitable, growing congregation of more than 300 worshipping partners, family, and friends serving the South St. Louis County area for over 60 years.

On October 7, 1951, an area member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) held the first worship service in the Affton Community Hall. The St. Louis Disciples Council sponsored this new congregation. It was led by Dr. W. Elbert Starn, council executive and organizing Minister of ACC.

Becky Piening, the church's Minister to Children, Youth, and Families, joins Reverend Woodard in leading this community in their faith journey.

Worship happens in–person and online via the church's Sunday Facebook stream. Service begins at 10: 15 a.m., and the church tries to have its live feed going by 10 a.m.
