Christian Hospital in St. Louis holds SHAPE Class starting on March 22

Christian Hospital in North of St. Louis will be holding a Senior Health and Physical Exercise (SHAPE) Class which starts on March 22 until April 24, 2022, and April 27 until June 19, 2022.

As stated on the official website of the Christian Hospital, Senior Health and Physical Fitness (SHAPE) is an eight-week exercise program created exclusively for persons 55 and older. A physician's approval is necessary.

It is also mentioned on the same website that it costs $35 for eight weeks of sessions at the Graham Medical Center.

Christian Hospital in St. Louis

According to their official Facebook page, Christian Hospital, located on 28 acres in unincorporated north St. Louis County, is a full-service acute-care medical institution.

Christian Hospital, as per the same Facebook page is well-known for its heart services and lifesaving cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, breast health services, orthopedic/spine surgery, vascular surgery, endocrinology, radiography, urology, wound care, pulmonary care, and treatment of sleep problems.

 In July 2017, as stated on the same page, the Siteman Cancer Center at Christian Hospital opened its doors, providing patients with easy access to globally acclaimed cancer care.

It is also mentioned on the same Facebook page that since 1903, Christian Hospital has served north St. Louis County and the Metro East as a community hospital and a founding member of BJC HealthCare.

Christian Hospital’s History

On the official website of the Christian Hospital, when Christian Hospital opened in 1903, there was no insulin for diabetes and no treatment for polio. Penicillin had not yet been invented, and open-heart surgery was merely a pipe dream. 

Referring to the same website, there have been numerous medical discoveries since that time, but one constant has remained – Christian Hospital's dedication to delivering essential medical services to the community.

It is also stated on the same website that Christian Health System merged with Barnes-Jewish Inc. in June 1993 to establish what is currently BJC HealthCare. Additional mergers with Missouri Baptist Health System and the St. Louis Children's Hospital Network in 1994 drew national attention to BJC and its distinctive blend of community, rural, and research-based services.

Christian Hospital and BJC, as per the same website were intimately associated with the prominent Washington University School of Medicine, which is considered among the top five medical schools in the country, as a result of the mergers. 

It is also mentioned on the same website that the Christian Hospital is now regarded as a leader among hospitals in the St. Louis area. Specifically, for its proficiency in cardiac services and lifesaving cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, neurosurgery, and other fields. 

Referring to the same website, it is also stated that the  Christian Hospital employs approximately 500 physicians and a diverse team of more than 1,800 health care workers who are committed to providing the finest treatment possible using the most advanced technology and medical innovations.
