The staff of a Christian Hospital in North of St. Louis has expressed their gratitude by lining up the hallway and cheering and thanking the Federal medical workers assigned there.

Grateful for service

According to the official website of KSDK– the virtual channel 5, Christian Hospital in North St. Louis County has completed its deployment of federal medical personnel. These heroes are being escorted out with a heartfelt "thank you" from the workers they came to support. As per the same website, it is also mentioned that when dozens of Navy physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists arrived in late January, they brought with them a sigh of relief. The 44-person Federal Clinical Relief Team that arrived to help them negotiate the recent Omicron surge was given a hero's goodbye by Christian Hospital's workers, who lined the halls of the hospital entrance.

According to the same website, before leaving the building, members of the team were acknowledged in an awards ceremony. Since early February, the team has been treating both COVID and general patients in order to ease some of the stress that hospital employees were experiencing.

It is also stated on the same website that the Christian hospital has one of the busiest emergency departments in the state, and staffing shortages made it difficult to care for patients. Staff was fatigued and many were becoming ill, and North St. Louis County had been one of the most impacted locations throughout the epidemic.

The crew was dispatched to Christian Hospital to assist in the provision of resources to a disadvantaged neighborhood. According to hospital officials, the task was nicely done.

According to Rick Stevens, president of Christian Hospital, the staff felt great comfort because they brought a lot of aid that we needed at a time when we had a high census here at Christian Hospital. The team is grateful to the Navy for stepping in and offering the assistance that they provided.

Lt. Ottis Brown, a member of the Federal Clinical Relief Team who has spent the past month working at Christian Hospital, stated that the people here have been quite kind. They've been friendly and helpful.
