Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church wants to give out school supplies for University City Schools in the fall. Just a few weeks after the opening of classes, the Mission and Ministry Center intends to bless students with the things they need.

The church partners with the Mission and Ministry Center on this endeavor.

School Supplies for University City Schools

Through its weekly email, the church shared that Mission & Ministry Center is considering school supplies for University City Schools. They were planning to gift students with school supplies this fall.

Faith Des Peres provided an option for those interested in donating to have a team from the church shop using the tax-exempt sales cards. The cards will save about 10% of the money donated.

Moreover, the church requested that its congregation consider contributing to this cause. It also asks those who will donate to make a special note in the check's memo line or online dedicated on Sunday, Aug. 7.

Faith Des Peres also reminded everyone how generous the congregation was last year. The church raised more than $700 for the same outreach.

Buddy Packs

Another way that Faith Des Peres gives back is through Buddy Packs. The church acknowledges that some families struggle to eat healthy meals and snacks daily.

There are instances when children go to school with an empty stomach. The uncertainty of getting a meal at home starts and ends the day for some school children. Moreover, the agony of finding a meal continues until the weekends.

The church wants to be part of the solution. According to its webpage, Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church sponsors Buddy Packs, a community ministry program.

The church, through Buddy Packs, aims to give kids weekend meal assistance during the weekend. These kids are from a nearby school district.

Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church partners with schools to find kids whose families want to participate. The school plays an active role in this ministry, from inquiry, registration, and acceptance to the program.

The church can provide one pack per family if they have more than one kid. People from the church deliver packs of nutritious food and snacks every Friday afternoon throughout the school year.

The kids get the food in a secure and designated place. Moreover, confidentiality is a priority to protect the children’s privacy as they participate in the program.
