MiddleTree Church will participate with other churches in St. Louis in Pray for the Lou Day on Saturday, March 11.
The church’s Facebook page announced that they would stand in their belief and pray boldly on behalf of the community. The church added that they would also intercede for where they are thankful they belong.
Besides, they posted that there would be an STL-wide fellowship at 1 p.m. in Fairground Park on the same day.
Community Groups
The MiddleTree Church’s website revealed that its community groups are small groups that meet together weekly. They noted that they seek to deepen their connections with one another and Jesus.
In addition, they mentioned that they offer various kinds of groups that gather on different nights throughout the week. Some of them conduct their meetings in person and some online.
Moreover, the church pointed out that they have a group, the D-Group, for this year. They explained that this team centers on widening Biblical knowledge and developing the Biblical worldviews of the members.
According to them, the group would also focus on cultivating their Spiritual habits. They stated that the group has different expectations from the other groups. Those interested should undergo the application process to be able to join the group, as added on the website.
Pray for the Lou
The Pray for the Lou website emphasizes that they seek to kindle prayer in the church of St. Louis. They desire to unite the churches and empower the city, as further mentioned on the website.
Moreover, they stressed that every Christian must pray beyond their faith. They highlighted the verse in the Scripture of Daniel 6:10, which says that when Daniel realized the law that had been signed, he went home and knelt in his room.
As further mentioned in the scripture, Daniel prayed three times daily, just as his daily routine. He gives thanks to His God, the website added.
In addition, the website posted that believers should pray for their neighbors, colleagues, and pastors.
More importantly, the website urges every household to pray beyond their family. They explained that they should pray for the people in their neighborhood and on the streets.
Besides, they said that each household should ask God for the people living nearby their churches.
Praying Beyond Walls
As the website explains, Pray for the Lou also believes every church should pray beyond its walls.
According to them, in the Book of Luke, he narrated that Jesus had chosen 72 other disciples by a partner and sent them to all the towns and areas he planned to visit. He instructed them that the harvest was many, but there were a few workers.
Jesus emphasized in the book that the disciples should pray to the Lord, who is responsible for the harvest. He added that they should ask Him to provide more workers in His field.
In addition, Jesus mentioned that the disciples should remember his words since he sent them out as “lambs among wolves.”
More importantly, the website explained that every church should pray for its physical walls, other denominational walls, racial barriers, and geographical hindrances.
