One Heart Family Ministries of St. Louis sets up Hope for Kids 2022 on Feb. 5, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in West Hills Church.

Hope for Kids 2022

Based on the official website of One Heart Family Ministries, Inc., this event will provide them with information on foster children in their area who are looking for a foster or adoptive family. The doors will open at 9:15 a.m., and the event will officially start at 9:30 a.m.

According to their official website, this program aims to allow people to hear from current foster/adoptive families who have walked the walk to inspire those who are interested to adopt.

It is also mentioned on the site that this is meant to educate people about the need for foster families for children. It is also meant to inform people of the next stages in the foster care adoption process. As they provide them with the tools they will need to locate relevant, helpful materials as they embark on this adventure.

Attendees may choose to attend in person or watch it live on the internet. Upon registration via the registration form, one must specify how he/she will attend the event. Those who register will receive an email with a link to the live broadcast, which will also be provided online on the day of the event.

Providing Family for Children

According to the official booklet of Hope for Kids 2022, the event will be providing fundamental information that must be provided. The Children's Division, as well as state-affiliated organizations, are devoted to identifying and training couples and people who can care for these children and can provide them with homes that are stable, safe, loving, and skillful.

It is also mentioned in the booklet that those who are interested must examine the material in this package and speak with any State-licensed professional to provide the necessary information.

Based on the same booklet, there are some requirements to be considered a foster or adoptive parent. One must be:

  • At least 21 years old;
  • Completed a criminal background check and a child abuse/neglect check;
  • They have good physical and mental health.
  • Have a steady source of income to ensure that the child will be given a stable lifestyle.
  • Has the willingness to take part in a free training and evaluation procedure and finish it;
  • Become a member of a professional team that is eager to share ideas and concerns; and;
  • Be open to collaborating with the child's family.

Adoptive families, as described in their booklet means that they give children permanent, safe, and stable homes. Adoption is the legal and permanent transfer of parental rights and duties from one person to another. Many of the youngsters in child welfare services who are waiting to be adopted are children of color who have reached primary school age and are part of a sibling group, have special needs, and have spent time in a variety of out-of-home environments.
