Parkway United Church of Christ announced volunteer opportunities for World Refugee Day 2022. June 20 is the official day for this event.
Volunteers Needed
Parkway United Church of Christ encourages everyone to volunteer for World Refugee Day 2022. Through Facebook, the church gave the details regarding volunteer opportunities for this celebration.
Parkway United Church of Christ shared a poster about the help and service needed on World Refugee Day. According to the shared poster, the International Institute of St. Louis encourages the community to join the event that will honor the resiliency of refugees as they empathize and understand the journeys across the community.
Volunteer opportunities include setting up, tearing down, and being an interactive museum facilitator. As stated in the announcement, the International Institute of Saint Louis would love to have everyone's assistance in volunteering for World Refugee Day 2022.
This event highlights the arrival of refugees to their state and the local community. Volunteer shifts are on Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18. Volunteers can serve from 1.5 hours to 3 hours long.
Parkway United Church of Christ invites its congregation to celebrate World Refugee Day on June 18 at the International Institute of Saint Louis, from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. According to the announcement, food and vendors will be available.
There will be performances by STL Grupo Atlantico, St. Louis Osuwa Taiko, Samba Bom, and more. This celebration will also feature interactive learning experiences—refugee story video, grocery and family budgeting experiences, conversation and reflection on the refugee experience, and new arrival housing set-up.
As shared by Parkway United Church of Christ, every June 20, the world celebrates World Refugee Day. This year's celebration will focus on the right to seek safety.
