Remedy Church held outreach initiatives with Restoration House STL on Wednesday, March 8, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The church’s website noted that the outreach program is done every month. They explained that the church’s outreach opportunities could significantly impact their city.

It encouraged its members to volunteer or share their resources.

Restoration House

The Restoration House STL website revealed that they seek to serve the homeless and at-risk young people. They want to achieve this effort by providing the necessary tools to deal with their circumstances, find their identity, and have hope for the future.

In addition, they stressed that they are a nonprofit agency that centers on healing the wounds of broken youth who grew up in poverty. The website notes that these young adults feel like they do not have hope for tomorrow.

Restoration House believes that by sharing Jesus’ love and its significance in His eyes with them, they could find hope amidst their situations.

Youth Service

The same website highlighted that the primary mission of the Restoration House’s outreach program is to know people where they are, regardless if they are homeless, couch hopping, or simply at risk of harmful behavior.

According to them, they provide them access to basic needs, shelter, and case management.

Moreover, the organization conducts case management. They explained that their Dream Builders Initiative utilizes a holistic case management method. They identified current problems and made self-guided measures for each client.

The website mentioned that they work with young adults as part of their strategy to help them improve areas in their lives where they would like to see the transformation, set realistic objectives, and establish steps that allow them to succeed.

Immersion Project

According to the Restoration House, they created the Immersion Project, particularly for youth groups. They guaranteed that every individual who joined this program would stay untransformed.

As further mentioned, through this project, they could open the minds and hearts of high school students through a group fundraiser and a 30-hour service project.

Top 10 for Homeless Students

The same website revealed that the US Department of Education emphasized that Missouri is in the top ten for homeless students nationwide.

They posted that 26% of people ages 18 to 24 live in poverty. They added that 21% of these age groups still need to finish their studies or GED. Besides, the US Dept of Education reported that ages 16 to 19 are neither working nor attending school.

Moreover, the unemployment rate for 20 to 24 years old is 19.1 %, as added on the website. They mentioned that 11.3% of 18 to 19 years old already have kids.

Unique Approach

Restoration House believes that a good part of their clients may need to gain the necessary life skills being nurtured at home, so they seek to reach out to these young people in the city to cultivate their whole being.

According to them, most of the statistics showed their city's disparity. The organization sees these numbers as their ground to work on for the youth's benefit.
