St. Louis #iGiveCatholic Campaign raises more than $200,000

The participation of about 100 ministries in the archdiocese raised $203,298. Schools, ministries, and parishes joined in this campaign.  

Many Give in #iGiveCatholic Campaign, Giving Tuesday

According to a report of ST. Louie Review, nearly 100 local Catholic ministries in the Archdiocese of St. Louis had a successful turnout from the #iGiveCatholic campaign. 

The campaign raised over $200,000. As stated in the report, the amount raised was made possible through utilizing strategies ranging from Facebook memes to personalized text messages and emails. 

Last November 30, 97 ministries participated in the first #iGiveCatholic campaign, and 1 172 donors gave a total of $203 298. On Giving Tuesday, parishes, other ministries, and schools were called to join this U.S Catholic Church's effort. 

Catholics all over the U.S participated in #iGiveCatholic. The Catholics from participating dioceses were invited to donate online and offline to the participating parishes, schools, and ministries of their choice. 

The participating ministries collect funds for capital improvement, annual fundraisers, or another project they choose during this campaign.

Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski uttered his continued astonishment for the generosity shown by the people of St. Louis.

He also expressed his gratitude to everyone who donated and every organization that joined and helped to promote the event. He further stated his gratitude towards everyone's demonstration of unity and strength. 

According to this report, on December 9, the local leaderboard recorded St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Ellisville as the top participant for this campaign; it got 121 donors and raised $27,241.51. 

Meanwhile, Vincentian Marian Youth raised $9,686.71 from 60 donors. It is a ministry of young individuals in Southeast Missouri. The ministry incorporates devotion to the Blessed Mother in the Vincentian charism. 

The ministry raised funds through its board members, connecting with people on social media, emails, phone calls, texts, and its Laboure Exchange thrift store. 

The collected funds will be used to support a twice–a–week youth ministry program. These programs are conducted in Perryville and Ste. Genevieve. 

Finally, the Today and Tomorrow Educational Foundation collected  $18,833.25 from 21 donors. As reported on STL Review, the foundation incorporated the campaign into a "season of giving "approach. Executive Director Julie Soffner shared with STL Review that such effort typically happens toward the end of the year.

About #iGiveCatholic campaign

As per its webpage, the campaign is celebrated annually on Tuesday, following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. 

The Campaign is the U.S Catholic Church's Giving Day. It stars the charitable season for the Catholic community. The National Catholic Register declared the campaign "the most successful Catholic crowdfunding event to date." 

This effort is a bishop–led initiative in cooperation with lay leaders in Catholic philanthropy. 

#iGiveCatholic campaign directors are Most Rev. Gregory M. Aymond, who serves as chairman, His Eminence Wilton Cardinal Gregory, and Most Rev. Joseph R. Kopacz. 

As of writing, the #iGiveCatholic campaign raised a total of $16,536 685 across the U.S. It has 44, 149 donors and 1620 ministries.

The next campaign will be on November 29, 2022. According to the campaign's website, #iGiveCatholic is the pioneer giving day to celebrate the unique Catholic heritage.
