The Rock Church of St. Louis will be hosting a baby dedication event on April 10, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. in their sanctuary.

Importance of Baby Dedication

According to the official website of The Rock Church, they are encouraging everyone to contact Pastor Timothy if they would like to dedicate their babies and celebrate this new life with the church.

On the official website of Learn Religions, it is stated that as the principal celebration of a child's birth into the community of faith, many Christian denominations choose baby dedication rather than infant baptism, also known as Christening. The usage of dedication varies greatly between denominations.

It is also stated on the same website that the scripture from Deuteronomy 6:4-7 provides the foundation for the ritual of baby dedication. Churches that offer infant dedications believe that baptism occurs later in life as a consequence of the individual's choice to be baptized. Before being baptized, Christians in the Baptist church, for example, are normally teens or adults.

In line with that, it is also mentioned on the same website that Christian parents who dedicate a child make a vow to the Lord in front of the church congregation to do all in their ability to raise the kid in a godly and prayerfully manner until he or she can make the decision to follow God on his or her own.

It is also stated on the same website that parents who make this promise or commitment are advised to raise their kids in God's ways rather than their own. Teaching and educating the kid in God's Word, providing practical models of holiness, disciplining the child according to God's ways, and praying diligently for the child are some of the tasks.

According to the same website, the Bible has a wealth of knowledge, direction, and teaching for Christian parents to draw upon. Regardless, the significance of infant dedication stems from the family's pledge to nurture their kid in accordance with the spiritual community to which they belong, whatever that may be.

It is stated on the same website that a formal infant dedication ceremony can take numerous forms, depending on the denomination's and congregation's norms and preferences. It might be a brief private ceremony or a component of a bigger worship service attended by the entire congregation.

The Rock Church of St. Louis

According to its official Facebook page, the Rock Church is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, and multi-site church. In St. Louis, The Rock Church has four campuses: Brentwood, Soulard, Lemay, and Ballwin.

On the same Facebook page, it is also claimed that they endorse the vertical Church vision, which includes: shameless worship, daring testimony, biblical teaching that is shamelessly Christian, never-ending prayer, and unshakeable Discipline.

Dr. Timothy Cowin, the church's Lead Pastor, notes on their official website that he wants the church to be more than just a place for religion, but also a place where people may encounter God's amazing power and wonderful presence.

Those who would want to join the church can do so by visiting their official website or any of their social media sites.
