The Seek 23 Summit brought thousands of Catholics across the U.S. into downtown St. Louis on Monday, Jan. 2, the first day of the summit. It returned to an in-person event for the first time since 2020.
Seek 23 Summit at St. Louis
KMOV4 reported that thousands of Catholics flocked downtown St. Louis for the Seek 23 Summit. This national conference was intended to teach college students and other people of faith how to share God's Word.
As stated in the report, the summit in St. Louis aligns with the Archdiocese of St. Louis and its effort to call Catholics within the archdiocese to evangelize in the present time amid "All Things New."
Moreover, thousands of college students went to America's Center on Monday for the Seek 23 Summit, a week-long program exploring the Catholic faith. As reported, the organizers claimed 1/3 of the college-aged focus program are post-grads and older parishioners.
Eileen Piper, the Vice President of Life-Long Mission at Focus, told KMOV4 there were 1,000 St. Louis Catholics at the event. She stated such a number implies that people are hungry.
Piper shared that the Seek 24 summit happens in St. Louis as "All Things New" continues at the parishes. According to her, such is not a coincidence. "All Things New" is a comprehensive plan that will affect all 178 parishes with closures or mergers due to declining numbers.
As shared on the Focus website, Seek 23 is a five-day event where all can leave old things behind. Moreover, it's an opportunity to answer a new call to greatness, joy, mission, and holiness.
All Things New
According to the Archdiocese of St. Louis, All Things New will assess the Gospel proclamation effectiveness of the Church in St. Louis. Furthermore, it will identify areas for renewal and improvement across all parishes, schools, and curia offices and agencies.
The archdiocese, through All Things New, aims to have a renewed mission. It targets to improve its evangelization efforts to those on the margin of society. All Things New works to revitalize Gospel in parishes, schools, and other ministry efforts.
Finally, the Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to make sure that there will be a vibrant future for the Church of St. Louis. As stated on the website, All Things New is a multi-year process.
It will impact the archdiocese for the next 75 years. In line with this, the Archdiocese of St. Louis appealed to all Catholics to pray.
It also asked all to offer their feedback about the future of the archdiocese.
