Cypress Methodist Church, Foundry Church Caregiver Connection, other organizations provide assistance for seniors in Texas

The Cypress Methodist Church, the Foundry Church, and other organizations in and near Houston, Texas, are doing their part to serve the seniors living in the city.

Houston Services for Seniors

Click2Houston listed the churches, agencies, and other organizations that support seniors in Houston.

In the report, it said that the Cypress Methodist Church holds a monthly support group that meets every fourth Thursday of the month.

It also listed the Foundry Church’s “Caregiver Connection group, " which provides support for caregivers and meets at the church’s Jones Road Campus every first Monday of the month.

Cypress United Methodist Church

The Cypress United Methodist Church is a member of the United Methodist Church.

As a part of the denomination, it follows the teachings of John Wesley. The church identifies as an evangelical church that leans toward moderate views. It is a church that values intellect and modern science while looking at the Bible for guidance regarding faith and practice.

On its page, it says that the church follows its core values:

Foundry Church

The Foundry Church is a church with two locations at Jones Road and Fry Road. On its Jones Road campus, the church provides traditional services, contemporary services, and even Spanish services.

It also has several ministries dedicated to the faith journey of children, students, and adults.

The church’s mission is to guide people to know, follow, and share Jesus Christ.

As for its beliefs, it has a statement of faith that lists down the eleven areas of belief o the church that follow John Wesley's teachings.

These beliefs include the church’s view of God as the Holy Trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal and have what the church calls “attributes of deity.”

The church believes in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice at the cross that redeemed humanity and made salvation available.

When it comes to the Bible, the church believes that it is the Word of God and that the Holy Spirit inspired the writers of the Bible. Because of this, it is the source of truth and final authority when it comes to Christian beliefs and practices.

The beliefs also list the sacraments of Baptism and Communion as the two practices that the church follows. 

The church also follows the view that women should be allowed to lead in the church and that everyone should practice civic responsibility.

Other Organizations for Seniors

The article by Click2Houston also listed the services of The Harris County Agency on Aging.

It says that the government office provides benefits, counseling, caregiver support, and information, among others.

There’s also the Living legacy center that provides housing and hospice options, medicare and funeral pre-planning, meals on wheels, and transportation.

There’s also the Wesley Community Center which provides social events and various programs for the welfare of seniors.
