Kelly Boaddus selected as new Head of School of Holy Spirit Episcopal School

The Holy Spirit Episcopal School recently announced that Kelly Broaddus is now the Head of School.

According to the Facebook page of the school, Kelly Broadus has been selected as the new Head of School of the school’s Board of Directors. Prior to this posting, Broadus had already been serving as the Interim Head of School.

Not a stranger to the school, Broaddus is an alumnus of the school who has been serving as a part of its faculty since 2019. As an educator, she taught at The Village School, China Spring Middle School, and Midway Middle School.

The transition of Broaddus was well met by the Board of Directors. Jordan Wise, the board's Vice Chairman said that Broaddus's selection was recommended by a ‘top recruitment firm specializing in private school chief administrators.’

Rev. Joshua Condon, the Rector of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church and Chair of the Board of Directors of Holy Spirit School, expressed his excitement regarding the vision of the Head of the School.

According to the Facebook post, the school started in 1962 as an institution that served the city’s Memorial neighborhood. It says that the mission of the school is to provide an ‘exemplary education that develops the whole child while achieving academic excellence.’

Today, the school serves its 350 students with its commitment to academic excellence. For this, the school has talented and trained teachers in social-emotional learning.

On the school page, it says that it values love, respect, and wonder to produce graduates that are compassionate, stewards of God’s creation who are problem solvers, and risk-takers.

On the school page, it says that Kelly Broaddus spent 15 years teaching middle school before becoming an elementary director. As an educator, she has completed hours of professional development training and presented at multiple conferences and trips.

The school page says that apart from her work with the school, Mrs. Broadus is a constant volunteer of her church and a contributor to overseas missions’ efforts. Further, she is an avid supporter of organizations that encourages children to read.

Holy Spirit Episcopal Church

According to the church page, the church’s mission is to ‘create space to grow in our relationships with God and with each other.’ For this purpose, the church provides worship, service to others, Christian education, and fellowship.

The church has Rev. Joshua T. Condon as the Rector of the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church and School. On the church page, it says that Condon is a graduate of the University of Georgia. He holds a Master of Divinity Degree from the Virginia Theological Seminary, as well as a Master of Sacred Theology from the General Theological Seminary.

As a man of God, the reverend has served several parishes in the states of New York and Georgia.

Rev. John Pitts is the priest associate of the church who has been serving the Diocese of Texas since 1988. According to the church, the priest is also a lawyer in Austin and the founder of the Texas Star Alliance.
