Abundant Life Community Church partnered with the Salvation Army to give out Thanksgiving dinner just recently. The dinner was held at the Salvation Army's Alton Corps Community Center and was arranged by the Abundant Life Church community.

As per The Telegraph’s report, during the Thanksgiving meal at the said facility last Wednesday, a choir sang as people entered, reviving a long-standing tradition that had been put on hold due to COVID.

Supper has been provided by Abundant Life Community Church and the Salvation Army for the past 15 years. It was served "to go" last year due to COVID, but the dining area was packed as people ate and talked this year, the article revealed.

According to the Rev. David Anderson, executive pastor of Abundant Life, they expected up to 200 individuals. Anderson stated that they "just did the math" and that the event is in its 15th year, the story mentioned.

He highlighted that this year was quite different from 2020 when there was simply carry-out due to COVID and far fewer volunteers, the report mentioned.

This year's program included a crafts table for the kids and a coffee house in addition to the meal, the article bared.

Abundant Life Church

Abundant Life Community Church is made up of people who come from a wide range of religious backgrounds. They make use of this opportunity to reach out to the entire world. They do, however, hold a set of doctrinal convictions, as per the church website.

They think the Bible is God's Word, which God gave them so that people could learn about Him and how to live, the site mentioned.

The church also believes that Jesus is God's son. They learn from God's Word that everyone has sinned and that as a result, they need and be saved through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, the page revealed.

The community also believes that the Holy Spirit's work among people continues in its fullness now and that Jesus will return one day to take His church to paradise with Him, the site revealed.

Aside from these beliefs, they cited 2 Timothy 1:13-14 as one of their core beliefs, which says, "Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you heard... Carefully protect the valuable truth that has been entrusted to you through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us."

Like millions of other Assemblies of God churches throughout the world, the Abundant Life Church considers the following principles to be fundamental, as per the about page.

Salvation Army Alton

The Salvation Army believes in putting faith into action and improving people's lives. Their services address physical, emotional, and spiritual requirements to help people reconstruct their lives and make long-term changes, the site revealed.

Help is offered freely and without prejudice while maintaining the dignity of the individual. They've come to change people's lives one by one, the page revealed.

Ordained ministers lead the Salvation Army and oversee the many activities and services offered in various places, as per the website.

They work as administrators, counselors, and youth leaders, among other things. Captains Cassy and Sean Grey are the significant contact points for inquiries, complaints, and requests for assistance at The Salvation Army Alton Corps, the page bared.
