Christian Congresswoman fiercely showed her criticisms against President Biden’s initiative to fund the police and rejected democrats' requests to defund them.

According to the official website of St. Louis Post-Dispatch, during his State of the Union speech on March 1, President Joe Biden rejected certain Democrats' requests to "defund the cops," drawing sharp criticism from St. Louis U.S. Rep. Cori Bush.
On her Twitter page, as mentioned on the same website, Bush tweeted in reply to Biden's comments by repeating her long-standing support for defunding the police and moving money to other parts of government.
According to the same website, the tweet says that all the country has done is increase police spending. As per the tweet, it is stated that the year 2021 established a record for deadly police shootings.
Referring to the same website, it is stated that according to The Washington Post, last year, there were 1,055 fatal police shootings throughout the country, the highest the outlet has reported in a single year since it began keeping statistics on police murders in 2015.
According to his speech on Tuesday, it’s time to not leave the streets and make a choice between safety and fair justice. He also mentioned in his speech that it is the perfect time to band together to safeguard their neighborhoods, rebuild confidence, and hold law enforcement responsible.
More from his speech mentioned that people should all agree that the solution is not to starve the police; but rather to finance and fund them. Fund them with resources and training. Resources and training they need to safeguard their neighborhoods.
Biden added in his speech that the American Rescue Plan Act, which was passed by Congress last year, provides $350 billion for cities, states, and counties may utilize to employ more cops and invest in more effective techniques. Proven tactics such as community violence interruption — trustworthy messengers, stopping the cycle of violence and trauma, and providing hope to young people.
Congresswoman Cori Bush
Christian Congresswoman Cori Bush is a qualified nurse, a community activist, an organizer, a single mother, and an ordained pastor serving the people of St. Louis, according to her official website.
According to the same website, she is Missouri's first Black woman and nurse, as well as the first woman to represent Missouri's 1st Congressional District and the first Black Lives Matter activist elected to the United States Congress.
