Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church gathers for worship, picnic in Kirkwood Park

Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church will have its worship service outside its sanctuary on Sunday, Aug. 14. The event aims to bring members together for worship and a special picnic lunch in the Lion’s Pavilion at Kirkwood Park.

Church in the Park, Kirkwood 

As announced in its weekly newsletter, Church in the Park is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 14. Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church invited its congregation and others to the Lion’s Pavilion in Kirkwood Park. 

The church organized Church in the Park for this Sunday. According to the announcement, a special picnic and fellowship will follow the worship service. 

Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church assured everyone that they would enjoy the event. It shared that there would be a lot of food for the special lunch picnic. 

The church also claimed that there would be a lot of fried chicken, sides, salad, and dessert.

It encouraged all to bring any extra food and drinks they would like to eat with their family.  

The church provided a map of the park highlighting the Lions Pavilion and parking. It also gave about overflow parking and shared contact details for anyone who has questions regarding Church in the Park gathering. 

Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church holds a Sunday worship service at 10:30 a.m. 

Rev. Emma Holley addressed the congregation in a short letter.

According to her, Membership Expansion will provide water and food. Furthermore, Holley provided other details regarding Church in the Park. 

Holley also requested everyone bring their drinks if they wanted something different. All members are instructed to dress casually and comfortably and wear their FDP shirts if available. 

School Supplies Drive Update 

The church donated the school supplies to University City Schools this week through its weekly newsletter. Faith Des Peres collected these school supplies from its recent drive. 

The donations have been enough to give sufficient supplies for 40 students. Additionally, Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church in its newsletter,  shared how well appreciated the school supplies were. 

Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church also reported that University City Schools would give many of the delivered supplies to recipients as soon as school begins. It also shared that several of the students are homeless. 

The recent flooding greatly affected many others. Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church provided additional help by giving a check from its remaining funds.

According to its Facebook page, one can visit Faith Des Peres at 11155 Clayton Rd., Frontenac. This address is the main church where worship happens except on Memorial Day, Jul. 6, Aug. 3, and Labor Day Weekend, where the congregation meets at the Old Des Peres Church.

Its location is 2250 North Geyer Road in Frontenac. The church seeks to worship the Lord through praise, prayer, song, sermon, and sacrament. 

As shared on its website, Rev. Holley serves as Faith Des Peres’ pastor. The church’s mission is to show and live God’s love, accept, and affirm all.

Another purpose of the church is to inspire a passion for doing the Lord’s work.
